The pictures are like they have always been! Ok the pages are thinner than what they used to be but for the money it’s spot on, if you want a more detailed workshop manual you need to spend the £80 or so pound from VW. I’m sure this Haynes manual has more than enough info for the self proclaimed mechanic. 👍

I have bought Haynes manuals for thirty years. I ordered a new manual for my latest project, a VW T5. Holy Moly was i shocked and dis-heartened by what arrived. It is like the worst possible paper back book. There is nearly no binding, no cover protection and the paper weight quality is less then that of a 1980's newspaper. After five minutes of flicking through it and comparing it to the other older Haynes manuals in my workshop, it is nowhere near as comprehensive or " Usable". The index is a joke and just now the ink on the paper has become un-readable due to the fact i had some oil on my fingers??? WORKSHOP MANUAL, used to mean something to use and have in the workshop??? Last Haynes manual i will buy!!!

Poor quality paper, poor quality black an white photo's, even the cover is no longer made from stiff cardboard. Made of cheap quality material, but charge you for high quality material, that is not suitable for a work shop environment. Haynes Manuals are the only big players in the market for this type of publication, so give Joe public this rubbish and charge an arm and a leg for it, as their is no alternative publication.

I was really looking forward to receiving this workshop manual as I had a few jobs in mind to carry out on my 2008 T5. Sadly what I found when it arrived was that none of the jobs I wanted to do were covered in enough detail in the manual. It tries to cover a huge range of model variants and in doing so misses out on providing detailed descriptions for any. The quality of the photographs is also poor compared to previous Haynes manuals I've owned. I wasn't looking to do a major engine rebuild or anything too complex, more cosmetic jobs like changing the footwell inserts or replacing the tailgate locking handle. All in all disappointing, and I'll have to look elsewhere (YouTube ?) for details on how to do the jobs I want to carry out.

Have not bought a Haynes workshop manual for years, really disappointed. Printed on newspaper, pics are very hard to see, processes are hard to follow and all over the place, takes a while to find the information required. Certainly no where near as good as they once were !
