The AMD FX8350 8core processor paired with the Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 motherboard offers a powerful combination for gaming and casual computing. With four memory slots supporting up to 32 gb DDR3 RAM each, this bundle provides ample room for expansion. The motherboard features various expansion slots including PCI Express x16, PCI, PCI Express x1, and PCI Express 2.0 x4, allowing for flexibility in adding components. With a range of input/output ports including VGA, DVI, HDMI, USB 3.0, and USB 2.0, this system caters to a variety of connectivity needs. The inclusion of on-board audio and chipset video support further enhances the overall performance of this setup.
I bought this board as a like-for-like placement for a previous GA-78LMT that had died, hoping it would just be a direct swap with zero messing about with drivers.
I installed it with no trouble, and incredibly, it worked first time with zero issues.
Okay, it doesn't appear to be suitable for Windows 11, but who is?
Oh, and the USB3.0 has never worked, but this is probably down to me not setting it up properly!
Overall, a good, if *old* board, but I'm happy with it, and it seems to keep up with modern software pretty well.
Gigabyte Motherboards are the most reliable I have come across in 16+ years of Computer Service / Repair.
The GA 78LMT USB 3 is a good option if you have a standard ATX Case.
The board I am reviewing is rev. 6.0 and can run Windows 10 as Drivers are available on the Brilliant Gigabyte download site.
Only downside to this board is that SSD / HDD can only run at 3gb/sec. and most modern drives are 6gb/sec rated.
Otherwise, great motherboard as an all-rounder with a decent graphics card installed will be fine for gaming.
I personally run 2 of these in gaming cube computers where space is at a premium.
