It works well, it controls the loco through the whole speed range and was easy to fit. No instructions with it, just make sure the black connector is on top to get it correctly oriented.

A very good buy at the price, only wanted it for operating the lights on a coach, no problems programing it even with out a motor load. No documentation supplied but found a very informative website "Laisdcc.com" which has a full description guide and another listing all the CVs. Needed to re-map one function on the coaches to enable lights to be on or off not on/off, this was very easy using the said guide

Have bought these decoders on previous occasions, proved to be good product so decided to buy 2 for my Bachman/LT Museum S Stock train which requires a decoder for each motor car. Worked perfectly as soon as I ran them on my test rig. The set runs great on the track, using Hornby e-Link as the controller, perfect combination

This is a better product than might be expected at this price point. So far I have bought six of the 21 pin decoders and all have been excellent. Quiet running and good motor control on 28 steps or 128 steps: they also have many functions for ditch lights, beacons, etc. There is a good set of instructions available for download online, which includes tips for CV programming, lighting, and resetting the device when confusion reigns. Essential for a beginner like me. All good stuff: thoroughly recommended. YMMV.

I've had several of these and they seem to work first time "out if the box".OK, Lenz decoders work even better without adjustment but they are 2.5 times dearer! Watch the power needs of your life. Heljan locos are by reputation a bit heavy on the juice, but the chip is fine in their 128 DMU parcel van. After all, it isn't going to be pulling any more power than when it runs light. Something like their class 47 with a long rake of rolling stock might be a bit risky with a Laisdcc chip inside. LAISDCC's "stay alive" capacitor is very reasonable too.
