Excellent quality. V neck takes some getting used to. It does not do well when played hard. Best for easy fingerpicking. Smaller body makes it somewhat thin on tone but it has excellent sustain. Fingerboard inlay too busy for me. I would prefer blank fingerboard. Have to reference Top position markers for correct position up the neck. Ideal guitar to put a pickup in and fingerpick it lightly.
Was looking for a replacement guitar for my daughter for her birthday. As her 's was stolen during a home remodel project. Found this Washburn vintage parlor guitar. Being that she's small in stature the parlor size will fit her much better..
She received it the day before her birthday. What great shipping as we are across the country from one another.. She is so happy with it. She loves the fit as it is easier for her hold. The string height makes it easy to play. The tree of life inlay on the neck makes it especially beautiful. This was a home run for Mom & Dad.
This Washburn is exactly what I was looking for. Solid wood, beautiful inlays and great sound. Plays smooth and I love the neck. Just what I wanted for when I don’t want to hold my giant J-50.
This is a beautiful solid wood guitar! For the price I don't see how it can be beat but you should know what you are purchasing. Of course it is always best to play a guitar you are thinking about buying but this may be an exception. I bought one & was completely satisfied right out of the box! The other reviewers are right - the bridge pins (get solid Ebony) and tuning pegs need to be changed out, but the all solid woods (East Indian Redwood is beautiful sounding & to look at!) are worth a few bucks more. A classic design yet being brand new is a real bonus with an adjustable truss rod make it well worth the wait for it to "open up" sound wise. The sustain is awesome, bass sweet, treble clear when finger picked but it does sound thin when strummed especially with a pick. It is not a Dreadnought! I do own a D-28 Maritn & Larrviee D-03R and again, if that is the sound you are looking for, this is not the guitar for you. But at a fraction of the cost and the fact the solid wood in this Washburn R320SWRK will sound more beautiful and become more valuable it will become a family heirloom! And don't worry that it is not made in the USA - there are quality craftspeople in Indonesia too! I would recommend this guitar to a beginner, intermediate or like me advanced guitar player!
Have several of the worlds finest guitars (all full size).... this is my first parlor-slot head...I love the whole of it altogether...different in a good way and my new full time performance guitar....THANKS WASHBURN
