Great aid for older hitters
As advertised, this is a great aid to provide instant feedback on a batter's swing. I've used it with my daughter and others on the High School Travel team I coach. It takes a little getting used to initially to afix to the arm, but then afterwards is very easy. The videos on the product site were very helpful. The hitter will need to have patience with it. Start with half speed swiings and graduallly work up to full swings on a tee. Set goals like getting 1 good swing out of 10, then 2 out of 10, and so on. Then move to 3/4 speed swings once the batter can get 7 or 8 our 10 at half speed. This may take a while so be patient. It's a process. It will not fix a swing overnight. Like any skill, it will take lots of repetition to build the muscle memory but this is an inexpensive tool to help do that. I have it as one of our team warm up stations before every game and during our batting practices. While this may be helpful for younger players, I think it will work best for 12 and up due to the patience required to not get burnt out on it initiallly when the feedback is mostly "negative" because it highlights a batter's swing flaws. But as you stick with it, and began to get more and more "good" swings it helps positively reinforce the good swing characteristics.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not as easy.
I help coach my son's little league baseball team. And after an hr my son finaly got it working. But what the maker dosnt explain and I had to figure out on my own is that you have to adjust the arm band to the size needed for the kid using it... that makes it frustrating and take alot of time.. said from my son not even a nothe coach could figure out how to use it. Even after we all sat down and watched all 4 videos on how to use the swingrail. Witch only show then already on and not how to adjust the the player.. for the mony I payed it's not worth it but I'll stick with it..Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Swingrail believer
Bought for 8 year old son to practice. First tried myself to see the feedback. Watched the videos on YouTube and found them useful. First dozen swings took a minute to get placement of straps correct and to get my swing correct. After the adjustments I was able to tell I was working different muscles to get the swing path corrected, especially in the lower half which I am sure was the purpose of the device that gives very immediate feedback if your hands aren’t kept back and short to the ball. Son was disgorged at first but given Dad’s shortcomings, kept trying. I would recommend for any age. A bit awkward to start, but it definitely keeps your arm tucked inside. Once you get a feel for what it's trying to do, you can control your swing to match the process, which is what it was designed to do. Annoying down time.
It's just OK. Made cheaply, probably a $3.00 product sold for $30. I can see this working for younger kids, but my 12 and 14 yr olds think it's junk and won't use it. My opinion is it works well to keep the hands in, but when finishing hands through the zone, the Velcro just comes undone. Too much down time between swings putting it back together. Eye protection
Had a young hitter get hit in the eye when the strap let loose. Since I’ve had my young hitters use eye protection and a helmet when using the swing rail. Alot of pain
