Great pump pays for itself in no time tremedous saings
This is a really great pump. You can't tell it's on when its on low speed. We have a saltwater system so you will have to adjust the cholorinator settings to get the chlorine right with running 10 hrs at low speed. We also have a jaccuzzi, so I run the quick clean cycle when we want to aerate/heat the hot tub as it won't push enough water in low speed. The low speed will also not overflow the hot tub into the pool, but the first speed and the end speed circulate the water through the hot tub so and the pool jets circulate the low speed all day. No thrilled with pump
I can’t say much about the pool pump quite yet for is only worked for a little over than 48 hours. I bought the pool pump on line in February brand new out-of-the-box. When I set it up in May when I open the pool it did not work. I called the company that I got it from online they said sorry over 60 days contact Pentair I called Pentair and they said I had to register it. I registered it call them back and they set up a service call. They came out and said that it needed a new computer head. Granted this is brand new out-of-the-box. They came back a little over two weeks later and replaced the head . It’s still did not work. They said it was probably the pop. About three weeks later they came out and replace the pump. Now they have replaced two parts out of three on the pump and it finally worked. For only 48 hours. Called Pentair they called the service company they came back out and finally replaced another computer head on it. It is now been working for about 36 hours we shall see from here. The service company was great but Pentair should’ve just replace the whole pump the first time instead of wasting half a season without a pool pump.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This pump is awesome
I own a B and B in Mazatlan, Mexico. I built a 10 foot hot tub with a waterfall 10 years ago. The normal pump I was using was so loud that we never heard the falling water let alone had a quiet conversation around the pool. Well all of that has changed my friends. I installed my Pentair Superflo 1.5 HP 115/208-230 Volt Variable Speed VS Pool Pump | 342001 3 days ago and I must say that the results were beyond my wildest expectations. On top of the silence my pool is now sparkling clear as I can run the pump longer without the noise of the past. At 1650 RPM I have to be on top of the pump to hear the slight hum. One outstanding pool pump
Although this pump is more expensive, it is extremely quiet, offer variable speeds and has an electronic panel on top so you can set any operating time/length and pump speeds as you require. Even though my pump has been installed for less than two weeks, it should reduce my power bills since the pump does not run at full speed for its entire daily cycle. This pump is factory set to start at 8AM, runs at high speed(3400 RPMs) for the first two hours, lowers its speed to 1200 RPMs) for the next 10 hours, then speeds up a little to 1700 RPMs for the last two hours. Installation was a breeze since the intake and outflow ports were exactly the same location as my previous pump. But be aware, if you do not have a professional installer install the pump, the warranty is void. Since I am a DIYer and this was a very easy install, I just purchased a two year warranty through Square Trade for $38.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Pricey but Top Quality
Only had this in operation 3 months but so far impressed. It runs extremely quietly. Programming it looked a bit complex from the manual but actually intuitive and haven't needed the manual. Has 3 programmable sections for speed/time and can be set for 1 speed/time or use all 3. Can set as low as 1 hour/1 speed to a max of 24 hours total and 3 different speeds. Particularly like the 'Quick Clean' button that allows override to clean or skim. Turning it off returns to the programmed settings. Bonus is the electric bill dropped. A bit pricey but worth it if it holds up. Unfortunately, if you install it yourself, mfg warranty is only 60 days so buy the extended warranty, not expensive.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Tremendous pump
Drop in replacement for Hayward. Reused exact same plumbing. Easy to program and saves 90%+ electricity when running at 30% speed. Even has an electricity usage screen to monitor efficiency. Will pay for itself in short order! Also has the option of using 110v if you're not wired for 220v. Quiet, Hard working, Power Saver
May have to do a little plumbing adjustments to fit your existing system; other than that quick and easy to install. Can hardly hear it running even when in high speed for cleaning cycles. Only had ours in for little over a week but the pool is much clearer and helps clean faster when using the pool vac. Looks like the power meter is running slower using this pump vs our old single speed 1 1/2 hp pump and the the motor housing is cooler with the cooling system it has built in.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Variable Pump is a must have!
We have had a single stage pump for 25 years and finally decided to upgrade to a variable speed pump due to high energy bills. It was also extremely loud but still was plugging along. This new pump purrs like a kitten. It's only been hooked up for two weeks but I have been tracking the daily energy usage for our home and it looks like it's saving money conservatively. Money saving pool pump/motor
This item is easy to install and has it's own internal timers for clean mode and variable speeds to either circulate water only or to drive your pool pump cleaner a few hours out of the day. Totally satisfied with this pump so far as it has cut down my electric bill on the pump alone in half. Setting the electric timer can be tricky, so watching youtube on how to do it greatly decreases the time. Best Pump for Medium size pools
Pump is superb for medium size pools. I admit price was a factor, However, we made our research and we could've gone to 2 speed instead. The Variable Speed was overpriced anywhere we looked. Promotion to knock off $50.00 Box made the deal for me. We paid $400 for the serviceman to re-adjust the pipes and added a Check Valve!
