I'm re-reading "House' (after twenty years) because I love Tracy Kidder and I remembered this as an excellent, true story. I found the seemingly simple story of a group of carpenters building a house from the ground up, with insight into their lives and the thoughts of the owners and designer, to be both soothing and compelling. I recommend this and all of his other books. (Try 'Mountains Beyond Mountains', the story of Dr Paul Farmer, as your next Kidder book.)
