easy installation, worth the extra cost for the wireless capability
rain sensor product came well packaged. Was extremely easy to install - going through the set up procedure was far easier than expected. Haven't had enough rain since I installed the unit to determine if it actually works as advertised, but given the great product reputation of Orbit, I have no doubts that it will perform well when required

Make sure its compatible
I guess if you have a compatible controller / timer it would be OK. It WILL NOT work if your controller / timer does NOT have 24 volt taps (places to connect for 24V ac) on it. Maybe more issues to consider but this stopped me. NOW ...LOL ... I recommend getting the model number off the old one and replace with same. I also recommend using the same manufacturer! I called Orbit and they said to call Rainbird because I have a Rainbird E6C controller. Guess what Rainbird tech support said ....Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Good unit will get the job done.
Easy to hook- up, so far so good. The only draw back is, it should have a status green light to show system on and is working. Red light show to rain sensor activated. Otherwise very hard for someone to really know if it is working after set-up. Well worth the price. If had the green status light for on,5 stars.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Better than ever
I have a Hunter timer controller with rain sensor. The sensor battery is supposed to at 10 years and is non-replaceable. Mine failed after only six years. I replaced it with the Orbit which was easy to install and easy to set up. The batteries are replaceable. The price was less than Hunter and others. I am totally satisfied.
