It didn't help at all sadly.
The fault code reader told me many times that 'no codes are stored in the module', so it was no use at all. When I paid for diagnostic testing, the tester used a much more expensive and complex device which found many codes in the BMW CAN network of sensors and cables in the engine management system. This reader is well-made and pretty cheap but not able to find any useful data. You can go round in circles with different functions but in the end you have a lump of colourful, useless plastic. My BMW was a 323i with a 2.5 litre petrol engine with 6 cylinders. The problem was the yellow EML light coming on for no obvious reason and putting the engine into safe/limp mode.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Fault it self
Hi, Unfortunately my was a bit faulty from the beginning, when i plugged in, it didn't turned on immediately, i had to wait for a 10sec first and 2 month later the "booting" time exponentially increased at the end when it still "worked" it was 20-30min on the obd port until it was ready, the last thing was, screen full with black pixels and after 1hr driving it still showed the black pixels, so i think it's gone... If you need to know urgently whats fault code came it's still cheaper than a garage, but if you want something which is reliable choose something which cost a little bit more, around 30pound you can find some quite nice ones.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nicely made cable and connectors, snug fit to the OBD and PC
BMW battery change needs the battery registering to the car, to reset the Intelligent Battery System, otherwise the new battery can quickly be overcharged. Last time I paid BMW to do it. This K+DCAN cable, used with INPA and Toolset32 software, enabled me to do it in minutes and save over £100 compared with last time. The one click installation was fantastic compared with the pages of instructions I have seen from other sellers. Nice cable with well fitted connectors, firm click on K to D switch and bright LED to show status when 'pairing' with the car. Shows the error code ...........But!!
Showed error code,fixed problem BUT reader would not cancel the code on car dashboard. Then showed message to refer to main dealer to get warning symbol cancelled in car, This was not stated on website.Still had to pay £60 to get it removed from car which basically made this purchase totally useless.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Faulty construction and lack of support spoils this cable
The quality is let down by the way the switch is mounted. It was not possible to switch modes because the switch was not glued to the case properly and came off on first use. The instructions are confusing and the cable is supplied with software but the support site says that they don't support the software.
