Basic with great screen.
Screen is ace. Nice dimming feature in low light. DAB and FM are not great but i guess that's related to where it's situated more than anything else. A little fiddly to set up initially - although the weekdays alarm feature is good. No USB port for charging phone on your nightstand though :-( When I got a good reception from autotune the sound quality was good. I've seen some reviews complaining only 10 radio presets (5 dab 5 fm) - surely that's enough. Stays on the same for most of the time probably.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Poor sound quality and difficult to use
I live in an area of poor FM coverage. After a lot of research I bought this radio alarm to get DAB. The user manual which you have to download does not explain things well and I ended up having to phone their technical support. Tech support was good but clearly the lady was having to go through a checklist which is an indication of how difficult this is to programme. I'm still having problems trying to program it. Good radio really like auto dim feature
I ordered another from this supplier but returned it as the display was too small and not adjustable. The first radio had a better sound in my opinion, richer and more expansive. This one is goo tho but sounds a bit dead. However the large digits make it easily readable without having to put specs on and the auto dim feature is great as we like the bedroom really dark at night.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A amazing, easy to use radio/clock full of great features...
After 25 years using my old radio, decided to update to get DAB! This radio/clock is fabulous. The display is large & crystal clear, and because you can override the 'auto' dimmer, you can manually adjust the brightness to suit yourself. The 2 alarms are so easy to set, and rather than wake you up immediately at full volume, fade up gently in a very relaxing way. The option of having scrolling text beneath the time display is very useful. The clock can also be programmed to set the time automatically using the DAB/FM signal, so you don't even have to set it when the clocks go back/forward. A really well thought out design, with a sound worthy of a larger device, and you can even adjust the treble/bass. A replacement for an earlier model
Purchased this to replace an earlier one which had started to malfunction. I’ve akways liked the Pure range of products and this is very good. It’s DAB+ so it’s right up to date. The alarms are easy to set and the auto dimming display is really good. My only negative comment would be that the time display doesn’t show 4 digits all the time so 1:07 am shows as that and not 01:37. Neat looking but disappointing sound quality
These radios were not cheap so we hoped we were buying good quality. They are nice looking and easy to set up. The auto light dim display is also a plus. But the key function of a radio is what it sounds like and that is a real disappointment. The sound is really muffled. It can't be the reception that is at fault - we have other DAB radios that perform perfectly well and give clearer sound. So as an alarm it just about functions - a radio programme comes on at the set time - but I can't really make out what the morning news is about!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good value radio alarm
Very neat and takes up hardly any space on my small bedside table. I found the instructions that came with it not too easy to follow but printed out full instructions from the website and set it up from that with no problem. Sound Quality Variable

Useless instructions
The Pure instructions are very poorly written - so much so that I have virtually given up on tuning into FM. The DAB stations just seem to be the BBC ones - surely there are more? The sound is tinny, and the controls seem flimsy. This is a mistake for me at least and I am hanging onto my old Philips Clock/FM.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
