  • The Flash Archives Vol 5 (2009)

In 1956, in the pages of the fourth issue of DC Comics' anthology title 'Showcase' the second Flash, Barry Allen, debuted. After four appearances in that title he quickly picked up the numbering from original Flash Jay Garrick's run (pun intended) and would continue on until it's 350th issue and then on into 1985s Crisis on Infinite Earths. This is the penultimate volume of the DC Archive Edition series for the Flash and contains some great stories from 1962 - 1963 such as the introduction of Heat Wave, the introduction of the Reverse Flash AND Wally West getting his own distinctive costume. You can pick this, and other volumes, up either in this DC Archive Editions format, as one of three larger omnibuses or a series of softcovers and rest assured they'll surpass anything DC put out these Days.
