An excellent read
Peggy's writing styles takes you along on the adventure with her and her dog. The story has fear, elation and humour. You get to know Peggy and Matelot , her Airedale dog quite well. If you have an interest in adventure or bikes or both this is a book that will entertain you and maybe surprise you. Who would have thought of doing a 14k mile trans American tour on a 125cc BSA Bantam loaded with suit cases, tools, spares, camping gear, food and an huge dog. Sounds like madness but Peggy did it and never wore a crash helmet!

A great adventure
As a Bantam owner I would probably baulk at the thought of contemplating her achievement. These are NOT touring bikes, and as well as taking her Airedale along, there is a sense of adventure that you rarely see nowadays. I can compare her to Ed Marsh and his C90 Honda in the same vein. It took a while to get going but improved , I would have liked a bit more detail of the mechanical problems , daily checks etc, but it's possible she did'nt know much about that .
