  • Vic FLick Guitarman book

The inside story of music session industry playing from the late 1950's onwards. Vic Flick played on many sessions by leading artists of the time and on many hits you will know. From the James Bond theme to many other well known titles. It gives a great insight into the session playing and jobbing musician's life, with great anecdotes and for those who have done this type of work the tales recounted here are no surprise! Sadly Vic recently died and this prompted me to buy this book, although it does not go into big detail on the music technology there is enough for most musicians to learn from but it is the personal stories that are the key here. As audience, you just sit and listen, you don't have to learn the instrument to a high level, travel and set up like the player does. This is all covered in the book with hilarious backstage anecdotes included. A good read for anyone into music.
