  • A moving & descriptive piece of writing

I felt compelled to buy this after 'BBC Radio 4' did this on their 'Book at Bedtime' slot in January. I was not disappointed. Knausgaard describes his life; growing up; relationships with his family & friends; ups & downs (more of the latter) & it is easy from his writing to actually visualise the places & the people. His use of language is so descriptive, very occasionally boring for perhaps half a page, but it still compels & grips the reader to delve further into his life. A moving story of his tales of life & there is something which everybody can relate to at some point in the book.

  • Bravely unflinching...

We all make minute observations, acutely aware of association and perspective... we don't get to choose... we can choose to share that insight, and if we are honest and articulate enough, it can be captured... it can be understood... it can enrichen whoever understands... inner monologue transcribed without filter!
