It is adequate for the job. Keeps temperature well.

Holds temperature well. Lid fits nicely. I did not by an automatic egg turner which makes way more work. But I fit 135 quail eggs in this incubator. If I would have bought the egg turner I would have only been able to fit 30 quail eggs. They seem to be coming along well even thought I have to open it twice a day to flip them. To keep my temperature while flipping them I have a heat lamp directly over the incubator and turn my heat up to 90. It only takes a few minutes after putting the lid back on to get back up to Temperature.

Its good in one way an not the other

When I set up my incubator the screw to set up the temperature striped out an it took me an while to get it dailed in to than settings an temperature I need to hatch my turkey eggs . That's the only main concern I have about it . Other than that it works great once you finally get the temperature right . Just be very careful with that set screw I didn't do anything but turn it to try an set it an it striped out that easy

  • very easy to assemble, but...

I don't like the handles for picking up the top..very shallow....hard to grasp..but other than that I feel it is a great buy..easy to assemble and operate..Once temp was set..it stayed ..feel very comfortable checking only once a day..I am in first hatching and every thing is going very well....

  • Good for the money.

Easy to put together. A little finicky when trying to set the temperature. Worked great as a hatcher for my chicken eggs! Will be using next week for duck eggs. Definitely worth the money. Very sturdy for styrofoam.

  • Quality Product

Quality product, eggs have to be on the natural side, this allows for my small eggs to incubate in a natural position. And the small plastic net base is good for all egg sizes, I am happy I bought this product.

  • New to hatching

I love it! Bought a different thermometer/hygrometer though as the one it comes with didn't work. Had to spend 2 days to get the temperature set just right, but the temp has stayed between 99-100 the whole time! The humidity trays are cool, very handy! I think I will buy a few more for the spring hatch-a-thon !!

  • Excellent Thermostat!

The thermostat maintains temperature better than electronic thermostats I've used. It has slightly more than 1 degree F of hysteresis, which is perfect for this application. Center the hysteresis swing over your target incubation temperature and you'll maintain your target +/- ~1/2 deg. F during the short term swings--at least that's what I'm seeing while using a Hova-Bator circulation fan.

  • old school unit-

these are the best!!! i added fan kit 23.00 to circulate air & once adjusted it is acurate & stable- waaay better than the new digital models!!! i have 4 going to hatch quail- phesant & snake-tortoise eggs, no problems at all!! had to search awhile not too many people have the non digital models anymore!

  • Hovabator incubator

Once you get it adjusted to the correct temperature it works really well. The turners for these are quiet as well. I purchased one with the digital thermometer on top and it didn’t work well at all, so I put a thermostat down in there and the temperature was off by 2° , so it is set up for failure. The turners in the digital one is very noisy and vibrates badly. So I recommend this one over the fancy digital ones that doesn’t work.

  • Very happy

Plugged it in 2 days before setting eggs. It stabilized easily. It's been going 8 days so far and stays stable. The only thing I would recommend is going to Walmart and getting an $8 thermometer that has humidity on it.
