Built in noise gate, compressor and 3 choices of "where to put" the distortion, 4 tone controls is welcome but can lead to more fiddling than playing. I haven’t tested the direct to cabinet option as I don't have one but my hope is it bypasses the -10db switch (very helpful for playing into my behringer interface) and gives you the full beans which it doesn't seem to be lacking if you find the right setting, not gigable but you could certainly kill some headphones/interfaces lol. I am having trouble finding a good setting where I can have a good clean tone then stomp on the distortion pedal and have a good tone without boosting the heck outta the dB. I would recommend this as a fairly cheap but versatile bass pre amp/di, it really is all you need (but more gear+more better or so I've heard)Read full review

Been looking for an answer for too many pedals in such a small place and this sa a pre-amp and equalizer really does the job. Dead easy to operate and if your rig will take it will make it push a lot of low end. Excellent value for an excellent bit of kit
