Its what I expected for the price. From me, that's a compliment. It looks and does exactly as described. Good value. I have now made a small protective pouch for the stone. Size-wise, it's perfect too because its easy to transport.

This stone is dirt cheap for a reason. I have bought a few sharpening stones and all have arrived intact. This had a corner broken off on arrival and another piece broke off on first use. It's gonna be a short lived throwaway item. If you want one to last just add a few quid more and pay around £10. It didn't even have a numerical scale for Stone grain size like 800/1200. No just rough and smooth. I knew it was cheap but expected slightly better quality. Just use the base of a cup instead of this.

Load of rubbish! useless after a very short time. Surfaces loose cutting abilities by going smooth in around a month. VERY disappointed! When initial grit is used up it stops releasing more so you're left with a paper weight, lol.

Got the stone to sharpen a blunt Victorinox kitchen knife, which was very sharp when new. The stone was sufficient in sharpening the knife. Maybe not as sharp as when new, but there is a learning curve in sharpening knives. Overall at 2.5 pounds on offer, it is definitely worth it. I couldn't find the grit ratings of the stone on the box it came with, if that is important to you.
