    Refurbished hardwood wrktops

After stripping back block hardwood (don't know what type of wood)worktops using a scraper (old plane blade) and glass paper, l was unsure what to use. I read lots of reviews just like this one and became more confused. Lots of information often contradictory. Saw this and went for it! From B&Q as I wanted to get the job done ASAP. Last one bought on Internet and saved a couple of quid. Applied the oil using J Cloths to saturation, left for a couple of hours and buffed up to a semi-sheen finish. First time did this 3 times, and have applied a couple of further coats every 2 months. Work tops look great, even the areas around the sink that had discoloured. I think that t is different depending on the type of wood and the amount of use he areas get. As soon as water etc. Gets on the surface we wipe it up with a cloth. Don't know if this helps, but it is good for me.

    Avoid this product

Followed instructions gave it 4 coats but it hasn't sealed the worktop. Assumed being ronseal it would do what it said on the tin. It didnt. Had to go for a different top oil which actually worked, this one is absolute rubbish, as many other reviews say - I wish I'd read them first.

  • Job's a good 'un

I have used Ronseal antibacterial worktop oil on my beech block kitchen surfaces for several years. They still look really good even with constant use. Rub down first with 0 grade steel wool, apply as directed on can. Job's a good 'un!

  • The best worktop treatment

It is a bit of a bind doing repeated layers but the finish is so good and so waterproof I don't regret buying this at all.
