Motion Pro chain slack setter.
The device is so easy to use, compact and light so no excuse for a slack chain, even if touring, it can even be carried in the pocket of a rallye type jacket. The price is a little high but is due to the supplier having to import the tool from America and as far as I know they are the only supplier in the UK. May work on dirt bikes, where you take measurement above rear swing arm, but completely useless for my S1000XR as the horizontal measuring section which needs to touch bottom of swingarm for measurement is about 4cm too short. The slider is pulled down to take slack measurement once the horizontal section is firmly wedged against swingarm, but that's impossible to do.
