Looked at various makes of Pressure cooker/ Slow Cooker combinations. Some much cheaper, one MUCH dearer. Read reviews and did a bit of research in shops. In the end decided to go with Instant Pot. I am so glad I did. I have used it to brown the meat before both putting it on Pressure Cook. I have tried the 'Meat' setting and also the 'Manual' I have used the Slow Cooker. I have done a Beef Stew, a Mince and Pasta dish, Vegetables, a Whole Chicken and Soup. Every time it has been a HUGE success both with my family as they all tasted great but also with me as the Instant Pot is so easy to use and to clean afterwards. I have used the trivet to sit my chicken on. I have sent for the Glass Lid to use when I use the Instant Pot as a Slow Cooker. So, you can see I have got right into it. I haven't tried Porridge yet but that is because I don't have the right type of oats at home and I haven't tried Yoghurt, as I don't have a starter yet. But I will do as soon as I get the bits I need. There are LOADS of recipes on line but if you have any favourite recipes it is so easy to use those too as the booklet explains how to adjust the timings. I think it is trial and error when you first start using a new Pressure Cooker but I have been lucky as everything has come out FABULOUS!Read full review

This is a good machine and cooks really well no hiss or steam like the old type pressure cooker. My tip is buy the biggest you can afford, I went for the 6 ltr although there is only two of us. You cannot fill the cooker to the top so although it is a 6 it's pot is only cooks say 4.4 to 5 ltr she. Also you don't have to put large amounts in the lot if you don't want. The other advantage of a large capacity is that you can get larger joints of meat and chicken in to cook

Instant pot. I would recommend this cooking pot to all age groups. I've only used it once as I've only had it for a week but was amazed at how easy it is to use. I'm 78 and thought I would find it too complicated but no. Please read instructions well before use. I was disappointed there was no recipe book with the cooker so had to buy one. Manufacturers should at least put a few recipes in the box as doing the dry run does not make up for making.a first meal and getting the confidence to use it. I would recommend this product to anyone short of time in their lives. I also had to buy a set of measuring cups as the cook book was American quantities.
