Nice piece of kit for holding leather, after a bit of modification fixing soft leather in the jaws to stop any marks or scratches to work piece and a lick of linseed oil to seal and brings out the hardwood grain, very nice well made finish.

This is a superbly made product, I think from Beech or Birch.... It’s unbelievably good value to the extent that you cringe at what the person must have been paid to make it. Feel gratitude that you can afford to buy it and have a life that allows such leisure pursuits. Some have complained about the exposed timber jaw faces.... I don’t know if this would mark leather or not, but a doddle to simply glue some leather off cuts to the jaw faces as a precaution, which I’ve done. Highly recommended.

A sturdy piece of equipment and allot lower priced than anywhere else I've seen. I couldn't make one cheaper if I used the exact same hardwear. Like many I've added a 5.5 cm x 12 cm strip of leather to both clamps to ensure theres no damage to leather I put in it. My personal preference which many do.
