It leaves no damage to even the most sensitive of paints, including silk emulsion. It can be repositioned and even re-used. The wide tape means the other side usually keeps a clean edge. Before I bought this, I used Frog Tape. That tape pulled a strip of emulsion off the wall all the way round. I then asked for advice from a professional decorator who recommended this stuff. Fantastic recommendation and head and shoulders above the other masking tapes. There were a few tiny areas where the paint bled ever so slightly, but I think this had more to do with user error rather than the tape itself. And because the tape does no damage, it's really easy to do a quick touch up where necessary.
