The Blue Nessie Adaptive USB Condenser Microphone is a freestanding microphone for your desktop or home studio. The Blue Nessie Adaptive USB Microphone has many built-in features that keep it minimal and give you a professional sound in one small and simple package. It has an internal shock mount, which saves space and prevents distortion and jarring sounds. A custom-tuned cardioid condenser capsule on the Blue Nessie microphone gives you richer and fuller audio. The microphone uses professional studio processing to adapt your audio in real time for the best sound possible without additional editing or accessories. Features of this adaptive processing include EQ, de-esser, and level control. The Blue Nessie connects directly to your computer using a USB port. A microUSB port can be found on the back of the microphone, along with a headphone jack. The microphone may be used with or without headphones. The Blue Nessie also features three recording modes, which can be controlled using the red switch on the back of the mic. You can choose between the voice recording mode, music mode for instrument recording, and raw mode for recording raw audio sound. On the front of the Blue Nessie microphone is a red instant mute button so that you are able to quickly mute while recording without having to mess with controls on your computer. An LED light encircling the base of the microphone indicates whether you are on mute or actively recording. While recording the light stays on steady, and while muted it pulses on and off. The Blue Nessie microphone has an adjustable head that can be moved up and down for flexibility without having to adjust the entire microphone and stand. The Blue Nessie is compatible with PC and Apple Mac computers without the need for additional drivers. The only requirement is a USB port. The Blue Nessie operates on Windows Vista and newer or Mac OSX version 10.4.11 or higher and requires at least 64 MB of RAM. Great Microphone - Setup not easy but works
Solid product A bit difficult to use and set up but works great. Loved it the few months it worked
I was very happy with the microphone but it stopped working after a few months. It comes with 2 years warranty so that that SHOULD not be a problem. If you purchase this microphone you should know that the support of Blue is literally non-existent. They take 6 days for a reply. It might be a question or suggestion. Another 6 days after you replied. Two weeks have passed and your still out of a mic. Try to call them then? When I finally had someone on the phone, I was told: "Yes, we are slow. We don't always answer the phone". They promised to send a replacement cable. That's already 4 days ago. What if the cable is not the problem but the mic is broken? 2 years warranty is long. But not so much when the support stalls until they are over. If you can't reply to a message or send a cable in less than a week you either have bad products and too many cases or you should just a second person.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Need a better condenser
The microphone is awesome. It's my first better quality mic for voice recording so anything is a step up. The one down factor is the popping. It was implied that it will minimize popping and it does not. So I use a pencil/pen across my lips and that works for now. Good for Podcasting
Previously used only 1 Mic (Blue Yeti) for our podcast. Now paired with the Nessie our sound quality has greatly improved. Nessie is very very good for vocal recording. The built in pop filter and shock mount work as intended. Adaptive recording works like a charm. Bought refurbished, works like new.
