Unexplained Model Variation.
The product ordered was a Cadac Safari Chef 2, BUT, the model delivered was a Cadac Safari Chef 30. There appear to be some differences with the main operating control on the unit and no gas regulator supplied, as shown in the product illustrations. This involved extra unaccepable cost and the supplier was unable to offer any comment on the model variation as the item was ordered through eBay. Also as soon as the gas bottle regulator is opened live gas passes through the Cadac burner, which seems potentially dangerous and the operating instructions should be clearer on this point. Initial ignition resulted in a minor fireball as unaware that live gas was flowing through the appliance. Not happy!!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Superb!
Awesome barbie: both plates are super non-stick, it's well designed and feels quality. Go for the HP if you want something portable - the gas cylinders last around 4 hours and cost about £4 each if you buy 6 on eBay. Throws out more heat than you could need (if you turn it up). Excellent lightweight BBQ will easily accomadate 4 peoples food
This is a great BBQ for camping and caravaning,its a heck of a lot lighter than the other Cadac BBQs which makes it more acceptable when you are watching the weight you are taking away with you. The actual cooking area of this Cadac is enough for 4 peoples meals, what a great piece of kit, we had the carri chef before but the weight was to heavy this is light and portable and doesn't take up to much room, excellent choice for the outdoor chef. Great little barbie
Small, compact, easy to carry and set up. Piezo ignition makes it easy to light. I also use a quick release gas connector so that I can attach, and change the gas tubing length as required. Downside is the grill can be a pain to clean, but have sorted this by using an oven liner cut to size on top. The various grill plates that can be used with this make it very flexible. Light weight and easy to use, my second cadac having had my first one over 10 years
This is a great piece of kit and easy to use. Instructions are good and easy to read. Only thing for me to make it better would be to be able to use a quick release connector on the gas intake but because the gas intake is in the middle fitting a quick release stops the legs folding correctlyVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Efficient and easy to use
Supplied with a convenient carry bag which also has provision to carry a gas cartridge in outside pocket. I have now used it twice and find it easy to set up, light and cook. What a compact little number. Have had many BBQ but this is the best small BBQ to date with good size cooking area for two and interchange from hot plate to grill to suit the foods to be cooked. Easy to use.
Only used once so far, but it's simple to put together and use. Heat was even and instant. One thing I didn't realise was that it's best to put some water in the circular drip tray under the grill part which collects dripped fat etc. The water makes it easier to clean and solidifies the fat straight away.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
