Lightweight with great features
One of the features I like best about the Ryobi is that the battery compartment does not need to be opened in order to charge the unit. Additionally, If the battery eventually fails, a new one can be easily exchanged. It's also lightweight but solidly built. The first time I used the device, I had a lot of debris in the water, a result of several violent storms in the area. The unit filled up fast and required frequent emptying and hosing off the filter or the unit lost suction power. The second time I used it I had already placed the in pool vacuum which took care of most of the heavier debris. I was them able to use the Ryobi to get the finer debris. I really like the features of this unit and am glad I purchased it over the Pool Blaster pro of which I had purchased 2 models over the last several years. You just can't expect the unit to get up a lot of heavy leaves, twigs, pine cones, etc. But it will be great for tune ups before the crowd comes by.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Unreliable! I had 3 fail on me this year
Works great for sucking up small debris. I can clean my large inground pool faster than dealing with hoses. HOWEVER, I'm on my third unit that I just got this week and it's already taking water into the main compartment. I know because I have experience.... the motor pulses on (with the power switch OFF) when rotating the unit.... that means water is sloshing around and activating it. Same thing my first one did before it stopped completely. My second one leaked in the battery compartment and destroyed a new battery. That happened the first time I forgot to check for water in the unit after using it. This is all this year! 3 units and every one destroyed by water leaks after just a few uses. Sad... I really liked this unit and have lots of Ryobi stuff but clearly this unit is not reliable. I was hoping I ran into duds... but 3?? Underwater "Dustbuster" works PERFECTLY !!!
Super fast delivery ... I used it to remove DE (Diametious Earth) filter powder from the bottom of my pool that was very difficult to remove otherwise. The small "dustbuster" filled quickly but worked perfectly. I have other (larger) batteries 4aH that fit fine too .... I love this little guy .... and .... I have + $ 1,200 cleaners that don't do as well .... Thank you .... It also cleans my jacuzzi easily without having to prime hoses or use a "too large" cleaner to try it ... Small and EZ to use
If you plan to use it to clean up leaves in your pool, you would be taken it out just to clear the leaves blocking the suction. Good the clean the sand or small debris. But I did find a good use for it in my HVAC cooling tower. It does a great job. Do this before you rise out the basin. If you a maintaining this kind of equipment.Verified purchase: Yes

high hopes but cant assess full performance because it came without a filter.

Fell short of expectations
