Cross slide vice
This a a solid piece . It is not precision engineering but extremely good value if you want it for occasional use for small work. Out of the box it was ‘tight’ and so i stripped down and cleaned off small areas of casting and paint, adjusted the slides and it all worked satisfactorily. Someone who knows
I have used one of these vices for 2 yrs I do not expect a precision tool for this money only a fool would but it was very cheap and for this money it does a good job ,but only as a drill press vice . The build quality is very poor . Accurate work would be hard to do .If you have a little bit of sense you can tighten and adjust to make it work .The one I have just bought needs new cross thread screws making as they don’t run true . The only drawback is it’s Chinese. I don’t know how they make it for the money. But corners have to be cut.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Exceptionally poor quality and not not good value for money.
Very poor quality, adjustment sloppy useless for any accurate work. Sliding surfaces very poor so impossible to get smooth movement. The adjustment markings on the turn screws are of no earthly use because of so much slop in the threads, it takes half a turn just to take up the slack.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Excellent for the price - just don't expect swiss watch precision for peanuts prices!
For the price this is a great little cross slide. It is not a precision piece - you need to start thinking of 5 times the price to get something that is. But for the money this can't be beaten and if you're willing to get into the workings and tighten as necessary you can get some great results. It's what you make of it, it's certainly good enough for most jobbing hobbyists like me. If you want precise though go elsewhere and pay for what you need. Hobby vice
