Age of mythology
I played the age of mythology for an hour fine. The next day it wouldn't load the titans version and then would play the mythology one then. Now both don't work.

Old but still a gem.
These games were designed more for Windows 95, 98 and XP. Still work in XP Mode on Windows 7, but I'm not sure about Windows 8 or 10. These were based upon the Age of Empires game strategy of collecting resources, building up your civilisation and military, while competing against either the AI of the game (from 1 to 4 opponents or an alliance with one other character to compete against 2 other characters), either progressing through the Campaigns offered or on random maps. You could then go onto the Multiplayer online games as you gained confidence. It may seem a bit slow going for those more used to the faster games, but it still has a loyal following with forums offering help, support or additional features available. If your system supports it, then it is an enjoyable way to pass the hours without reaslising how long you've been playing. Of course, with it now being an older game, it is available at a more reasonable price too!
