Damian Szifron's jet-black comedy contains six shorts that all tell disturbing and funny stories. The first involves a plane full of people who discover they have something in common. The second is a tale of revenge. The third tells the story of a road-rage incident that escalates to unbelievable proportions. The fourth follows a man fed up with governmental bureaucracy. The fifth features a wealthy family attempting to buy their son out of a jail stint after he kills someone in a car accident. A true masterpiece
Whether you find the short stories amusing or nail biting, there is true beauty in each and every short piece. The actors manage to engage with the viewer and make you feel their injustice, your only left wanting more at the end and you can see why this film was nominated for so many awards. My favourite is the cafe rat poison scene where the old lady really does not care about any consequences and suggests to her young co worker to poison a man who had ruined her family.
