  • Is this the best capo ever?

Beautifully made and discreet. I have a G7th capo and find it good but a bit thick, so playing close to it is sometimes gets a bit cramped and often I will set it closer to the centre of the fret and then this means clamping it a bit harder. The ratchet idea on the G7th is great but I have found the rubber is now quite indented and needs more squeezing to get better pressure on the strings (this is after several years though) the Shubb is a mechanical clamp and once set to your guitars neck radius will just clip neatly and firmly on. The Shubb is very slim and unobtrusive. The rubber is a flat hard sheath over the brass arm and seems very effective and easy to get the required pressure. The Screw at the back is great for applying more pressure if needed. This is very well engineered capo. The G7th could be squeezed onto the headstock when not in use if a little precariously but the Shubb cannot, so maybe easier to lose. It is smaller and lighter than the G7th and considerably cheaper. Highly recommended, high quality product and probably the best capo out there.

  • Good capo, does what it says

Don’t usually do these reviews, but I’d recommend this. It actually works as claimed, is easy to use, and has a good grip. The grip is just about wide enough for my ancient Eko folk guitar, though there’s precious little to spare on the highest frets. Seems sturdy enough, so I’m hoping it will last.

  • Excellent product - does exactly what it should

Easily fits in pocket and has a good grip - different capos don't quite firmly hold down all the strings resulting in a string "buzzing" or duff notes.

  • Great product!

Had one years and it's been great, now after trying a cheaper version on my daughter's guitar with not much success she has one too. Works great, highly recommended.

  • Good quality, essential bit of kit.

Good product, it does exactly what it should do. Well made and virtually indestructible, just don’t loose it. I was so impressed that I bought two, one as a spare.

  • Buy this now!

These capos are excellent quality. I have used them for well over 20 years. I would still be using that same one if I hadn't lost it. Excellent locking system. Even pressure across all strings. Can cope with excessive use over many years.
