Fixed dripping head and leak behind dial. So easy to fit. Like Lego, with a few screws.
Manufacturer original part in box, with instructions, New modified part and hub and silicone grease. Could be fitted in 5 minuets if you where in a hurry. So simple. Bit like Lego, with a few screws. Fixed my dripping shower and leak from behind the on/off dial. This is a manufacturer modified part and is an exact fit. But does operate with about 50 degrees more rotation than the original before it hits the red button stop. I took my time and descaled and cleaned all parts and inside the valve body housing. Cleaned the 2 rubber 'O' rings inside the cover, lubed with some extra silicone grease. But that is probably not necessary. Follow the instructions exactly and you cannot go wrong. The new cartridge has no built in stops and uses a modified hub to control stop points. Very important. There is a small white arrow on the exit port that must point to the cold inlet (labeled). This will mean the flat on the spline will either be directly south or north. All you need to fit is a small flat blade screwdriver to remove the dial centre cap (from the bottom of cap). A Pozidriv 2 (cross head screwdriver): 3 screws. and a largish flat head screwdriver. 4 screws. I would recommend to take photos when taking to bits at each stage, especially of the adjustable temperature stop location. I put mine back exactly where it was and all is fine. No further setting up required. (all parts mentioned are clearly labeled on a diagram in the instructions). You cannot really go wrong. Make sure you turn the water off! or isolate the feeds to the shower unit. Switch your combi boiler off if you cannot isolate the feeds to the shower. So simple, as I said. Faulty Vavle - Was it a genuine part?
I purchased this balancing valve a few months ago and the plumber has just fitted it and has pointed out that it is faulty as it does not completely stop water flow to the shower head when it's turned off. The very reason I purchased it in the first place. The packaging was intact and sealed on arrival and has only just been opened today 7/02/2024. The fitter noticed and showed me a couple of small metal fragments that had been pushed out of the valve by the water pressure and one side of the valve does not properly open or close. i now need to purchased another valve in order to hopefully solve the problem and return the faulty part for a refund all of this is costing money as i have to pay the plumber regardless.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good product but over-priced
This appears to be a good quality cartridge for the Mira shower. It solved the problem of water leaking out from the control unit. It was simple to fit. After fitting it the water temperature was not hot enough but I went on line and googled the problem and there was a simple adjustment to the unit. This involved partially dismantling again and moving / readjusting the cartridge within the fitting. I made the adjustments (it took a couple of goes) and I now have a very good temperature. My only gripe with this cartridge is the price itself. Although, as it happens, this was the cheapest one I could find. How on earth they can charge the prices they do (I paid around £66) for a little plastic gizzmo that surely costs about £2 to manufacture ! Expensive part unfortunately.
