Dell Lap Top Battery - OE Replacement
I find it amusing that they want a review of an item like this after I have only had it for a couple/few weeks while I have no idea as to whether or not this battery will last. Anyway, it looks good and hopefully it will last. It fits as expected. Only time will tell if this thing is hood and will last. For the first time, I did buy the extended warranty because the last battery I bought only lasted a little over a year...Just enough time for the manufacturers warranty to expire. NOT "Genuine Dell" cells. Only thing original is the sticker on the battery.
Bought 2, both failed a month later. Dissembled to discover they are NOT Genuine Dell, they just have a genuine Dell sticker on them. The cells are blue paper wrapped clear heat shrink low grade cells with factory labeled "2000mah 3.6v 7.2wh". 4 cells times 7.2wh does not equal 40wh. Tested all 8 cells in my pair of Opus BT-3400's and all came back at ~2130mah with only a 500mah load. Retest at 1 amp gave even lower results. For the record the 2 batteries these replaced that were original to the new Dell purchased laptops have Samsung 2800mah cells and after 3 years they still tested out at ~2400mah- problem was failed tab-welds between cell 1 and 2 causing an open circuit. Dell genuine uses high grade cells- these replacements are low grade cells. See pics.

Not like original, but ok
40Wh doesn't mean 41800mWh but rather 38000. This battery lasts for 4 hours, same amount the old one lasts, but the old one also 39% wear and it's still just as good as this one new, thought this was original, I guess it wasn't. Rounding up them numbers, not cool. Still, who am i to say that the old one isn't gonna wear down even quicker now, idk, still using this one. Seems OK, at first. Need more time
So far, so good. Seemed to drain low pretty fast, not exactly sure but will keep you posted as I look into this further. Had it charging overnight, used it 20 minutes this morning and battery ran out! Skip it unless your original battery is totally shot.
After initial full charge of this battery, my laptop indicated a life of over 7 hours. A few weeks later, the battery life is closer to 4 hours, which is about the same as the 3 year old one I'm removing. It's not worth buying any of these replacement batteries if yours still has life left in it beyond a few minutes.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
