Recommended hook & loop backing pad
I used this backing pad on a 12" disc sander and it stuck well to the machine having previously trimmed it carefully to size with a pair of sharp scissors. I attached a new sanding disc and this stayed firmly in place after some serious sanding. I will have to withhold a star though, as only time will tell whether the backing pad will remain attached to the sander in the longer-term.

Needs a more powerful adhesive
The sanding discs stick very well to it but it doesn't stick nearly as well to the metal plate on the sander so that when you change the sanding disc you pull the velcro off the machine plate
