When I first heard of pickled walnuts,i thought hard crinkly nuts steeped in vinegar. Then somebody suggested that I should try them,a statement that I dissed,until one day,a friend said could I get any from anywhere. I found Opies on the internet,3 jars in a pack, Delicious with a capital D. I'm a true convert now,just wish I had tried them earlier in life. Pickled Walnuts! Who Knew!!
Never had pickled walnuts before, but if you like pickles, you will like these. Sharp vinegar flavour, a slightly rough texture on the outer side (that would be the soft nut shell, but not unpleasant) . Taste nicer than they look and worth a try. Very difficult to buy in the shops these days. I could eat them like sweets straight from the jar, but pair well with cheeses and I've seen recipes that you add to like curries etc. for a umami finish and texture.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
