Ive used other, more expensive Garmin's and Suunto's, but this one is a great balance of simplicity and basic features. My phone was a bit cumbersome, and not often accurate. This watch easily picks up the GPS satelites and links to my HR chest strap in seconds. It has a great battery life, 8 hours, and has sleep mode enabled in case you are done exercising and forget to turn off the GPS. The 110 is a small, sporty, and light watch that can be worn around town. I wish it could show active HR stats instead of just the pace and time, and it would be great if it had the wireless ANT capability, but on sale, what this watch does, it does very well. The mygarmin.com website also adds a lot more features which only adds to my training. Overall a good buy when compared to more expensive watches.
This is a great item. It has some automatic features like 1 mile laps and has a heart monitor. I like the direct connection to the computer better than the bluetooth ANT+ as it is much faster and the USB device for the wireless is easy to misplace. The two week battery is also a plus. The only think I'd like is a bit better water proofing (1 meter is all its rated for). I have a 910, and the only think it has that works well is the water proof to 10 meters and the mapping. Neither are of much incremental use since the map is small and the GPS doesn't work in the water anyway.
Great quality running GPS watch. Seems very sturdy, easy to use and accurate (connects to satellite usually within about a minute). Web interface is excellent and uploading of data is easy. The value comparing to other GPS units with heart rate functions is outstanding. Keeps you motivated, highly recommended. I have not had some of the issues reported by others, but I've only had it for about two weeks and immediately updated the software and firmware right after receiving it.
good value if all you want to do is track time pace and distance this is the watch for you simple to use and simple to set up doesn't come with some of it the advanced features of more expensive watches in the range but as far as a no nonsense gps watch goes it does the job well
HELLO READER...I BOUGHT THIS PRODUCT AFTER OWNING THE GARMIN 305 WATCH FOR 5 YEARS. I WANTED A SMALLER UNIT AT A SMALLER PRICE. THE GPS LOADS QUICKER THAN THE OLDER MODEL WHICH IS A PLUS...THIS WATCH IS PERFECT FOR RUNNERS BUT I ALSO USE IT FOR CYCLING...ONLY PACE IS DISPLAYED BUT A PERSON CAN GET USED TO FIGURING IN THE PACE TO MPH RATIO. GPS IS WHY I ORDER FROM GARMIN BECAUSE ITS ACCURATE. I LIKE THE CHARGER AND THIS WATCH WAS ABLE TO USE MY HEARTRATE STRAP FROM THE OLDER UNIT. IT CANNOT COMPARE TO THE EXPENSIVE MODELS BUT FOR THE PRICE I LIKE IT AS FOR MEASURING PACE, TIME, DISTANCE EVEN THE BEST MODELS CANNOT GET ANY BETTER THAN GPS.
After dropping my Garmin Forerunner 3-5, I wanted something a bit smaller that didn't look like a laptop strapped to my arm. This is the size of a normal watch (roughly) and has everything that I need: heartrate (just synced up my heartrate monitor from my previous Garmin), splits, and time. I don't need much more than that. No complaints at all with this and it works very intuitively and easily. Love that it is smaller than the Forerunner 305. For an average runner like me, it's all you'll need. I never used the other features beyond total time and mile time splits.
Best Christmas present ever! That's what my husband says, anyhow. So easy to use. Nothing more than just what you need, so it's lightweight, easy to read, and I think you can add a heart rate monitor strap (sold separately) later if that interests you. My 8 year old daughter has even gotten excited about running and tried it out. Now she can't stop talking about her "quarter mile split" - Oh my!
This is a great way to keep exercising and accountable sooooo easy to use ! Love it!!!!

This is a wonderful watch! The Garmin Connect software interface is very simple to use for almost any age. I have broke my screen but Garmin has offered to replace for a cheap $60. I will say that this watch is made very tough and it will stand even the roughest of everyday use. It took some pure luck to crack my screen & I don't think it could happen again even if I wanted it to. If you are a runner or just need this to track a distance of any type, this is the watch for you!
I have been using this device for two month. I had one drawback, from time to time betton "page/menu" does not responding, because of that i can not use GPS and HMR. I solved the problem by rebooting the device and downloading new software into the device from the official site. Maybe it's coincidence, but the device started to work.
