    Excellent camera set.

Everything on this camera works without issue. The appearance looks good with no apparent harsh wear. It came as described with two lenses, a battery charger, two batteries in good condition, appropriate cables, strap, carry bag, and so on. It did not come with a remote control but one can be had for less than ten dollars. It did not come with a memory chip either, but these are also easily purchased. I took one from an old flip phone I have and that works. The hard part is learning to use this camera. This is not your easy to use point and shoot Kodak or smart phone camera (although it can be). The manual is about a 75 page read that familiarizes you with all the buttons and dials, how to operate them and what they do. That is where I am at this point in my ownership of this camera. It’ll take time to learn all the functions but my goal is to be able to take photos at those one off events without blurs, under exposures, over exposures, or shots missed because I’m still figuring out which button to press.

    Nikon vs Canon

I bought this camera as a knock around camera to save wear and tear on my Canon. I would rate this camera more closely to the old kid style Pentax I had before the Canon I now have as a primary camera. For a beginner this is a nice camera, easy to use and a great first camera. While this camera has some great features, including over 20mp, I prefer the quicker adjustment of a touchscreen monitor and the picture quality of a 58mm vs 52mm lens of my Canon rebel. The Niton is a good camera and if you want to print wall sized photo's the higher pixel rating is better but for quality pictures and ease of operation I prefer Canon.

  • Great Non-Professional, Professional Camera

I've been watching lots of YouTube videos to get to know all the features of my "new" Nikon D3200 DSLR. Many of the people in the YouTubes say the camera's a good "beginners" DSLR. I don't know why they consider it a "beginners" camera. The body has 12 buttons and there are another 10 mode settings on the exposure wheel! In my humble opinion, this is a great professional camera for non-professionals. I love it. I'm very happy with my decision to get this particular model.

  • Nikon D3200

This is a nice camera for a first step into the world of DSLRs or for someone who is an "enthusiast". The camera is fairly light and compact with lots of features. It can use all of the DX lens that it's bigger brothers (D5500, D7200, etc.) use. The photos tend to come out a bit brighter than they would on other Nikon cameras. But overall it is a good camera for most users and a great value now that the D3300 is out. I used my Nikon D3200 for a while, but decided to move up to a D5300, which I just got and haven't use much yet. But I bet for most users the D3200 is enough camera.

  • Not A Bad Starter

I'm a Canon girl, but I decided to try this Nikon out and see what all the hype is about. First of all, the camera is pretty user friendly. Second the price is just right for a beginning photographer. The lens is very poor quality, especially indoors. With a very limited f-stop, you're better off using this lens outdoors or in lots of light. The Nikon D3200 is much smaller and more light weight than my Canon. This is a good thing for small hands, but it has a very cheap feel. I waste some extra time finding certain controls, but I'm sure this is because I've been using Canon for years. All in all, this isn't a bad little camera for the price. I recommend purchasing a 50mm lens.

  • A great camera for the non-professional

I bought this camera used but not abused off eBay the camera provides everything that I need ma digital SLR camera and does it well. For the price I paid I could not have a point and shoot camera with the same features. Lens interchangeability is terrific and with an adapter I can use my excellent Konica lenses. I could have purchased a much more expensive camera but being an unprofessional the features this camera offers are more than enough for me. Prior to buying this camera I did a lot of research and the reviews for this camera compared to a Canon were far superior. I don't think you can go wrong buying this camera. Sure there are newer cameras on the market but I didn't need to spend that kind of money to do what I want to do in photography.

  • Good Camera but changes could be done

Overall the package is a good deal. The tripod that came with it was very shaky and I did not feel comfortable to put on camera on it and leave it without having a hold of the camera. I went and bought a better tripod. The memory card that comes with it does not allow you to record videos. So I had to go and buy a different memory card to take videos. The 70-300 mm is a good lens for started but I want something with a little more zoom on it. The lens are easy to remove and put on. It is a good started camera package but you can expand and buy more as you get better with the basics. Overall I have enjoyed my camera and I would buy another if I needed and I would tell my friends to buy one as well.

  • Affordable, entry level camera.

Wanted to find an affordable option to get into photography, and this camera fit what I needed. Beautiful pictures, easy to use, and good features. It is a 10 year old model and definitely shows it ages on the connections, screen, etc., but if you want to learn photography and not break the bank, this is a good option.
