Worked well
Very strong bags and the oxygen absorbers worked well. I tried sealing the bags with a regular clothes iron (set on 'wool' setting), and when I got the seams straight, they sealed fine. I also tried an old bag sealer which worked fine, and a foodsaver with just the sealer setting. I tried vacuum sealing the bags with a piece of food saver bag slipped in to allow an air gap for vacuum, but the food saver wouldn't melt it completely closed. The o2 absorbers seemed to do their job quite well when I sealed the bags properly. I did my work in batches over a few days, and put the leftover absorbers in a mason jar with lid screwed tight. By the end, I could feel a bit of 'chunkiness', granulation of the o2 material, so doubled up toward the end. That's just what's going to happen reexposing the o2 absorbers to open air, though. I can't speak to how well the bags will last long-term, but they seem very solid.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

3.5 mil mylar bags
If the bags were 5 mil for the price purchased it would be a great deal. I found if you moved the bags around to much after vacing and ox absorbers the seal would be lost in 5 out of 50 and they would have to be redone before storing in food safe pails. Easy Prepping
These make long term storage pretty easy. Rice and dried beans etc. are cheap. Equipped with these bags, you can put away a lot of food for a relatively small fee. These are top quality bags that are very easy to fill and seal ... I figured I would probably ruin first few by not properly sealing it with a iron , but found out it don't take much heat or time for the edges to seal tight. Just make sure u include your absorbers. I bagged up 20 lbs of white rice and have plenty plenty bags left for my beans next.bags are thicker then what I thought they would be as well. Same as patriot supply or even military specs. Bad oxygen absorbers!
I purchase these one month ago decided to start using them the eye on the package was still pink but majority of the oxygen absorbers we're hard and chunky which is a sign that they were spent the couple of bags I did use them in did not seem to suck out any Oxygen and I squeezed most of it out they do not work I have had others and you can tell a difference.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
