Not quite a D-12E, But It Rocks!
What a phenomenal mic!!! If you are looking for an AKG D-12E and all the mileage on very old and virtually irreplaceable diaphragms has you freaked out, then this is the mic to get. Basically most of the D-12E's on the vintage market have so much mileage on the diaphragms that no one can truly remember what a brand spanking new D-12 sounded like objectively, all we have really are memories. Some of the rebuilt diaphragms are just best guesses at a memory. This mic gets into the same ballpark except that it is new and serviceable with replacement parts available. The mic excels at kick drum, bass cabinets, and chunky down tuned guitar cabs.
