Solid and sturdy, much better than my old one!
I've bought several different FATMAX measuring tapes recently (i'm always losing or breaking the darn things!), from a couple of wee little pocket 2 metre ones, to a big beast of a 10 metre jobbie. This 5 metre one has a couple of useful features i like; firstly, the wide guard one the end (the standard ones are okay, but i find they do slip off easily at times), plus it's magnetic, which is useful. It also has what i would call a 'slow break' system built in to it, thus it doesn't slam back into the case (i broke an older one from that happening!), and the lock stop works very well too. Casing is solid, I've dropped this one a few times already, no harm done...it can take a bit of punishment. Expensive for a measuring tape, but as that old adage goes, you get what you pay for.
