  • Great book on career of Barbara Stanwyck.

One of the best books every written about the career of a great star. Author Ella Smith desribes every film the great Barbara Stanwyck made and analyzes Stanwyck's interpretation of each role. Fascinating and far better than the so called biographies of movie stars written by people who didn't know them and couldn't possibly know what went on in their private lives unless they were the proverbial fly on the wall. The book does have a brief biographical section, but the emphasis is on what made her the possibly greatest of all movie performers. The quotes from her co-workers prove her to be one the best loved of all Hollywood stars, Love this book!
