I bought this for my brother after he told me about the loneliness of long distance HGV driving. The expense of service stations and how this simple device - a kettle makes his life easier. I then had to order more of them in order to supply his colleagues. They were "old " school and used camping equipment which is OK during camping season but not in winter. Gas bottles not readily available. The heating element is a hot plate rather than an element so seems a lot cleaner and probably less likely to burn out. The litre capacity was also a good aspect as can boil enough for a cuppa and a pot noodle at the same time.

I bought this kettle and paid a little more as it is 300w as opposed to 250w the last one I had, both take time to boil, and with the extra 50w I thought it would be quicker, which it is a little, but I have had to replaced 10amp fuse on the fuse board 3 times yet only used the kettle 4 times. The water dribbles everywhere if you try to pour too quickly, so as I was still watching one the same as my last one ,I was offered a discount bringing it down to little over £12 so have bought a 250w one to use now and will put the 300w one away for later.

I got the blue one. Boiling time is good. The leed is a bit short and the lid feels a bit fragile. I use it about 15 times a week and after 3 weeks the plug melted so I replaced the plug. 3 week's after that the kettle burned out.
