Oxford Diecast manufacture 76MAR004 in 1/76 Scale which represents a Morris Marina in Cheshire Police Colours. This is a fully OO Gauge compatible diecast model aimed at the Adult / Discerning Collector and the Railway Modelling markets. The Morris Marina was popular with the Police and other Emergency Services due to it's five-door functional design. In 1980 the Marina became the Morris [BL or British Leyland] Ital as it's small legacy continued to progress. This is in Cheshire Police Colours from when it was in service during the late 1970s to early / mid part of the 1980s. Cheshire called on it's Morris Marina fleet to patrol neighbourhoods as they were not particularly high-performance like many Traffic Policing cars tend to be. The blue Rotating Beacon comes mounted on an additional Police 'Box' giving the car a bit of a clumsy look to it as was the case in real life. But not requiring to operate at speed like a Traffic Policing car this was allowable. These characteristics are caught very well by Oxford Diecast with their offering here. In terms of diversity and detailing this small wonder gets the 10 / 10 FULL HOUSE or MARKS from my direction. I particularly like this model as all too often is it the tendency of model manufacturers to concentrate their efforts on better looking Traffic Policing cars or more modern and sleeker designs :o)Read full review
