In 1965 the first episode of the series "The Public Prosecutor has the Word" was broadcast. Unusual: For the first time, crimes committed by GDR citizens were discussed on television. The lawyer with the strict glasses and the SED badge on his lapel became the defining figure of the series in the decades to come. At the end of the program he announced the sentence and explained it - of course in the spirit of socialist morality and legality. About five million viewers watched the episodes, which are broadcast every six weeks, on average. In the feature film scenes, everyday life in the GDR was portrayed in a realistic manner. This was ensured by well-known authors, directors and above all actors such as Ulrich Mühe, Henry Hübchen, Jenny Gröllmann, Rolf Hoppe, Jörg Schüttauf, Ezard Hau.
