Good quality of sound but needs careful fitting.
Not even an instruction leaflet in the packaging and not for the faint hearted if you haven't assembled your own speaker enclosure previously.- Well- all the parts are there but unless you are reading this you will have needed to trawl around looking for various reviews/pictures or made a few errors on the way. Bottom line is that the speaker diaphragm is installed back to front with the lugs for soldering on the top(suitably pulled/eased out as they seem to be designed for a daft push fit using single strand wire) Thereafter the spacer surrounds and enclosure bottom are very carefully superglued together. I did not do this properly to start with and the speaker emitted a lot of fizzing/buzzing and very low volume. I persevered -reglued and added vinyl tape and the difference was bizarre -far better than the replaced hornby speaker that was too big. Even the clanking of the con rods was audible I used the deepest enclosure in the kit. This speaker will now be my preferred option

Brilliant Little Speaker
Fitted this to a Hornby Tornado Class loco. Installed into the smokebox easily with the resonator box (all parts supplied with the kit). You must fit the resonator box to get the full and deep sound from this little speaker - what a difference adding that makes. It is an easy fit into the smokebox and I will install more of these as I add TTS sound to locos I'm certain. Sound is superb and highly recommended.

Superb recording
This is a superb recording of D1015 - a loco that has regularly run main line and you can tell by the way the engines really roar in a way I'm not sure loco's that never get over 25mph do. I have installed in the Dapol 00 version and it gives very good controllability with the sounds responding well to the way the loco is driven. The option to 'run' on one engine or two is novel but works well. The quality of the recording shows if you get the chance to play it through a high quality speaker. Sounds superb through a DC Kits Earth Mover tho this may require a little chassis modification. A Zimo dumbo would be my recommendation.

Replacement
An excellent replacement for the bulk standard speakers you get from Hornby with their new TTS encoders. When you are upgrading an old Hornby engine to DCC there isn't much space to be had for a speaker and decoder. So this speaker will sneak into very small spaces and do the job.

Very good value for money.
I decided to fit TTS Sound to my Hornby Tornado A1 Peppercorn, but the speaker supplied with the TTS Sound decoder was far too big. So, following an instructional video I'd seen, I decided to purchase and fit a sugar cube speaker, which turned out to be of terrific quality and value.
