a real one size fits all charging solution
Brilliant Charger, so much better than other CAN BUS chargers I have used on my Motorrad Bikes. Its a real plug and forget whether its a top up charge or battery maintenance on bikes thare little used over winter etc. You can hear it waking up the CAN BUS system (relays clicking etc) if its plugged in say after the bike was left overnight (Motorrads default 15 mins auto cutoff of CAN BUS Sockets) I have successfully used it on city & saloon sized cars also, its a real one size fits all charging solution .Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Connection
This is a well made unit, the big problem for me was the cigar plug it’s not compatible with the standard UK cigar socket, I originally needed it for my BMW C 600 scooter , don’t fit !!!! My 1150RT don’t fit !! Both BMW makes , but in the package there is an adapter to connect it directly to the battery I didn’t want to do that I’ve made enquiries at BMW not a great help considering all they need to do is to fit a universal UK/EU plug...Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Perfect smart charger for Can bus technology bikes.
Perfect charger for Gel battery on my K1600GTL with Can bus technology. Connect directly to bike charging socket and works straight out of the box. No messing with crocodile clips, etc. Easy to understand instructions, very well made and presented, but rather expensive. Happy enough
This charger is ideally suited for my needs as Im only a fair weather rider and in Scotland this can mean prolonged periods of inactivity for which the trickle charge facility is perfect. Overall product price is quite expensive however and this is pervasive to all BMW gear, seems we pay over the top for big company named products . Aftermarket items are so much cheaper and give an idea of how much these items cost to produce because they obviously make profit as well.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

bought this for my BMW R1200GS Adventure mad husband whose pride and joy is wrapped up warm in the garage for winter. He has a motorcycle with the built-in socket for this charger so very easy to connect. fast charging and easy to use. He has also followed the recommendation to mount it on the wall. Working well
I wanted a canbus compatible charger for my BMW bike which can be plugged into the DIN socket fitted as original equipment. The only other compatible charger I know of that does this is the Optimate 4 Dual. That costs around £75-80 with the necessary DIN lead. The BMW charger is around £100 so it's a bit dearer but I decided to go for it. This premium price over the Optimate 4 Dual is why I have said that it's not good value. But don't confuse that with not good quality, it appears to be fine. So far it's working perfectly doing exactly as the instructions say. But I've found with chargers, having had various ones for decades on many different bikes, that you only really appreciate their quality when they last, and I mean years. My CTEK for example is several years old, in constant use, and still works perfectly. So I'm unable at this stage to give any long term opinion on this BM charger. But that's not a criticism, I'd have to make the same comment on any model if it was new to me.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
