Ping G25 is in the top of the best drivers on the market. It has some advantages for high handicappers. It is quiet forgiving for those who don't always hit the center of the club face, but it is exuberating when you do. There is not as much difference in drivers as there use to be but can add confidence when you know you have a good product in your hand. It may not be the longest of drivers but it is among the longest of drivers that are easy to keep in the fairway. I have had a lot of drivers and consider this to be the best I have owned.

I'm a high handicap golfer, and typically shoot around 100. But I can usually hit pretty well with my driver, so after noticing that modern drivers give me a lot more distance and accuracy than my Callaway BB2, I decided to buy a "newer" driver, and went with the Ping because of its reputation for being very forgiving. My experience has shown that not to be the case. The club has a tendency to fade to a point of being almost a slice (around 15-20 degrees off target line.) That's more than enough push to put you in the woods on a lot of holes. I have not seen this problem with other drivers I demo'd (Nike Vapor, King Cobra, Titleist 915) I can adjust for this by putting the ball up and forward of my normal driver address, but this feels very awkward to tee up with the ball way out and almost in front of my left foot. Bottom line is I wish I had hit this before buying it. I got a great deal, and I'll adjust around the club, but in retrospect I should've bought the Titleist 915 which not only gives me almost 20 yards more distance, but is also by far the most forgiving club I've ever hit. The G25 9.5 degree head set at + loft is an easy driver head to hit solidly. The ball springs off of the face with a solid feel, resonant sound and without excess spin. I bought a tour quality aftermarket shaft to replace the proprietary Ping regular flex graphite shaft which was causing too much dispersion and felt very whippy. The replacement firm flex light weight (my swing speed is a moderate 86-90 mph) Matrix HD Black Tie 5M3 graphite shaft works very well for me in combination with the G25 head. It has very much improved dispersion and moderately gained me some yards off of the tee. The head sets up naturally square to slightly open. I find it difficult to hook or even hit a slight draw which is my natural action. I do consistently hit power fades with it. The head feels like a balance beam that wants to fight turning over which is conducive to hitting consistent slight power fades in my case (I was hitting too many big and weak fades with the stock Ping shaft). I recommend the Ping G25 head but qualify my recommendation: get a personally well fitted shaft.Read full review
Had a chance to play with these clubs and they are amazing. They are in excellent condition and I was able to get the ball in the air with these clubs. I cleaned them up a little and they are in great shape.

Before I got this club, my drives were not very far and unpredictable. I did not get a chance to practice with this club before playing 18 holes with my friends. The very first drive and following drives were farther and straighter. Not every time, but clearly better than with my previous driver. Even my friends noticed the difference. The research I did really paid off. I highly recommend this driver for a beginner, intermediate or experienced golfer.

Having used a Taylormade RBZ stage 2 stiff I decided to try the G25. Only played one round so far and maybe 10 hits on the range and while it's not hugely different, it is decidedly a step up. Bigger sweet spot and off center shots are still surprisingly long. Very pleased with the G25, and I like the sound a lot better. The Taylormade was very loud. Overall, I don't regret it, got a great deal!!

I have always used Ping clubs and I needed to replace my 15 year old driver. This is a great club for the weekend golfer. It is easy to hit in that you don't have to smash the ball to get to go the distance and the adjustment feature on the head is a plus too. For amateur's one driver is much like another in performance, so I look for something that is pleasing to the eye and has a history of quality construction Ping fits that bill for me.
Club was in great shape as described, head cover looked brand new too.
