We use this drive to update and expend our cluster of 11 iMacs and 3 large Mac Pro towers form 1TB standard SATA drives to 4TB hybrids. We have found them to be durable and reliable and can easily withstand the rigours of touring a rock band. In the case of our 3 Mac Pros we use 4 in each to give us 12TBs available for processes real time Midi, world clock. light and FX control. If they can handle Blujon then they can handle anything :)

1 TB platters I believe. Quiet and copious. Ideal for data storage, or even a boot drive. Occasionally you can hear the head moving, but I have more confidence that this will preserve precious data than my boot drive which is 2x SSDs RAID 0. Pure SSD might be risky.
Bought for my Netgear NAS 102 box. Works well. First disk that actually turned up as I was ripped off twice attempting to but other similar disks. It's not actually a ST4000DM000 drive it's the ST4000VM000 (I think - It's the network NAS equivalent version)
