Really helps the mic deal with wind
The Rode VideoMic Pro is an excellent all-in-one shotgun mic for the price, aimed at videomakers using DSLRs with a jack socket for a microphone. Its performance weakness shows up in any wind, when the standard fixed foam muffler catches a lot of wind noise. This DeadCat slips on over the foam muffler and takes almost all wind noise out.
