I have the more usual 5 bolt spider on my SRAM crank that doesn't need the hidden bolt arrangement. My bcd is 110mm, a good match there, so I took a chance on being able to fit this good value chain ring. In the event it fitted the existing bolt holes perfectly but the threaded stud on the hiiden bolt is too short for the normal spider mounting. The threaded stud is firmly fixed in the chainwheel and I contemplated various ways of removing it and using a normal chainring bolt arrangment. Long story short, the eventual solution was to press out the stud. I have a 1Te press that did the job easily, but a few well aimed hammer blows would achieve the same result. The stud is held by some shallow parallel knurling that locks it into a standard sized recessed hole in the chainwheel. Once out, the hole is of the same dimensions as the other 4. The standard chainwheel stud arrangement now fits perfectly. I now feel totally confident the bolting will not let me down.
