I wanted a slightly more powerful soldering iron than the 30W I had. This 60W iron worked fine and soldered up 2mm thick copper which can be a bit of a heat sink. However, I left it on in the shed and it was probably on for the best part of 2 days. It was hot when I spotted it but when I next went to use it, it did not work. On stripping out the heating element it had burnt out. Now you could argue it was unreasonable use that caused it to fail but I have left my 30W soldering on on numerous ocassions and, although it ruins the tip, it still carries on working

Good length lead and works fine. Just what I needed. Thanks.

This rolled over and died in the middle of ruining the second ever solder joint it was used for. Or maybe it died during the first one and was cooling down during round 2. Whatever the case, I really cannot recommend this at all.
