Loft safety
Daughter had her loft boarded out. Decided to put some protection around the opening. Found this on line at a very reasonable price. Arrived on time with all parts included and a tool to fit the bolts into the rails. No instructions but you can get them on line . If your good at DIY it's very easy to assemble but the tool supplied for bolting it together is not really up to the job as it soon rounded at the end and was unable to fully tighten the bolts . A new tool was located and the job done.All brackets except one was countersunk to accept the screw head but not a problem to anyone who has a drill and a slightly larger drill bit to countersink the holes . Altogether for the price a good product let down only slightly by the things I have mentioned. It is very sturdy when fully assembled and would do the job of preventing any slipping and falling through the loft opening.

Could be sturdier maybe
The contents of the order were good quality for what they were and packaged well. In hindsight we should have considered the sturdiness of the timbers used for the structure when considering the purchase. My husband has used some bigger timber in places, made cross struts to strengthen the whole barrier and a couple of extra brackets for floor fixing. As it's sold the timber's not really that sturdy if it's to be considered as a safety feature. The structure was quite 'whippy' before we strengthened it. Maybe some slightly 'meatier' timbers would be better even if that did mean a higher price. We're basically happy with the purchase at a basic level and it did spur us into doing something we should have done years ago!!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
